Feeling inspired again

'It's funny how a person can make you appreciate your blog, even if you aren't currently active, and make you feel proud '

If you've been a follower of my blog for a while, well, firstly well done for sticking with me as we all know how temperamental I can be! But you'll know that I go through phases of being really inspired and really very uninspired with my blog. I would love to be one of those people who is just on it all the time, constantly producing interesting pieces for people to read, but I'm just not made of that stuff. I'm the kind of person who likes to spontaneously see friends in the evening or completely chill out on the sofa after work with my husband and enjoy spending time together, after all this is a hobby. However, it seems I have been inspired to come back to my blog, and I find myself jotting down blog post ideas on my phone like I used to, and it certainly helps now that I don't work weekends anymore!

It's funny how a person can make you appreciate your blog, even if you aren't currently active, and make you feel proud of all (or most) of the blog posts you've produced over the years. This started a few months ago in my previous job, I'm not even sure how it all started, but talking about how long I've been blogging for and how interested people were made me realise that I'm not a failed blogger just because I haven't constantly been producing content since 2010, it simply means that it is what it is...it's a hobby.

I cherish that conversation and the conversations that came after because I actually feel proud of how long I've been doing this for. Yes, I could have a much bigger following, and maybe I could even be doing it full time, but I'm not and I'm happy with where I am in life so I'm not going to dwell on it, or even shy away from creating content again. This blog is for me and for anyone else who wants to read it, and that should be enough.

The person I have to hugely thank for this is my friend Rhian. She was the person who, without even realising, made me want to blog again and have my say - take control of my little slice of the internet again! She's recently started up her own blog and is already gaining a following on Twitter so I am super proud of her as I know how daunting it can be to put yourself out there and gradually have people you know in every day life find out about your outlet. Having said that the blogging community is amazing so who even cares if someone you went to school with finds it funny, you're not doing this for them.

I've also been vlogging my weekends for the past couple of weeks and I've been really enjoying it! I may have lost a few subscribers as vlogging isn't to everyones taste, but it doesn't matter because I'm enjoying myself and it's great to have memories to look back on. I'd love it if you could check out my channel, give some videos a thumbs up and subscribe! I'd love to hit 1,000 subscribers, that would be a huge achievement for me! I've also got other videos that I want to film to run alongside my vlogs and they'll be posted on Sunday's, but I'm just taking it all one step at a time!

Have you been back and forth with blogging in the past? Did you manage to get back into it? I'd love to know :)
