'For the first time in a very long time
I feel like I am in control of my career again'
My career and 'what I should be doing with my life' is something that has tormented me pretty much since I left university almost four years ago. I've always known what I wanted to do but been too scared to take the risk so ended up in jobs that just weren't right for me. This year I wanted that to end. I wanted to ease myself back into a fashion based job the only way I knew how and that was starting with retail.
I started working part-time in Topman on the shoe department at the end of January, after a month I got transferred to another store for more hours, money and responsibility, and now a month after that I am leaving due to being head-hunted for a Visual Merchandising position in New Look! Everything has happened so fast, and despite some people thinking 'ergh, retail', this is what I want to do right now. I have always enjoyed Visual Merchandising as I did it when I previously worked at New Look 3 years ago, so I'm excited to get back into a creative role - something much more suited to me then mens shoes!
For the first time in a very long time I feel like I am in control of my career again and actually feel like I have a purpose again! I feel so much happier and more myself and I am super excited to be a VM again, and who knows where it will take me this time around!

This outfit was made to be photographed in front of a colourful background so I made full use of the blue garages near my house, and the glorious weather we had last Monday too!
Do you find there's a lot of pressure to know exactly what you want to do with your career? I feel like we all go through it but there needn't be so much pressure! Let me know your thoughts :)
