'Only you can make it happen'
Happy New Year everyone! I know I'm a little late, but to be honest I've found it rather difficult to get out of the Christmas and New Year laziness (!!) Has anyone else had that trouble this year?
Now, usually this blog post would involve me sharing with you some of my New Year's Resolutions and joking (but really being serious) saying 'let's face it, I'll never achieve them anyway', but this year will be different, so I'm afraid if you're looking to see what my goals are this year then you've come to the wrong place.
I recently came across a blog post, which was actually written in February, about why we should keep our goals to ourselves. I won't bother repeating what it said, you can just head on over there yourself and have a read if you are interested, but I did want to touch upon it because, you know what? It actually made a lot of sense.
This year I have mapped out my goals and actually gone for very few, but very realistic, goals to achieve in 2017. I have written them down in the front of my new 2017 diary and I intend on keeping them to myself and just work on them privately, for me. Now I'm sorry if that sounds really boring to anyone reading, and it may not even work, but it's worth a shot, right? Maybe you could try it too and then we'll see how well we did this time next year?
Instead of sharing my New Year's Resolutions with you and already giving up before I've even started, I've decided to share some things that I actually know will be happening in 2017, things that I am truly excited about! Let's just say, I have an exciting year ahead!
This year I will be turning 26. Yep, that's right, I will be that side of 25... So far it hasn't scared me too much, probably because I've been more focused on the wedding, but I know when the day comes the sudden realisation will hit that I am fully an adult now, and I know that sounds silly as I've been an adult for years, but there's something about going past the age of 25 that makes it really set in stone, you know?
Not only will I be getting married in 2017, but I will also be Matron of Honour (because I'll be married by then, ahh!) for my best friend of 18 years, Amy. Who knew we'd be getting married in the same year just months apart! It's amazing to think that we will both be starting the next chapters of our lives together, and of course for anyone wondering, she is my Maid of Honour too!
I'm so excited for the events coming up this year, and to see what the rest of the year has to offer as well! Have you made any plans for 2017 yet? I'd love to know :)
