Why it's important to follow your dreams.

Many of my recent posts have been inspired since moving cities. I know I keep mentioning it, but it's kind of a big deal for me as it's the first time I have ever moved away from my home town. Since moving, and being made redundant, I've had a lot of time to think about the future and what I want out of life.

I have always had a dream, since as long as I can remember, to run my own business selling some form of clothing which has been handmade by me. Sewing and making clothes has always been a huge passion of mine but unfortunately since working full-time and living in the 'real world' my dream has been slowly slipping away, so much so that I almost can't see it happening anymore.

But you see, this is where this post ties in, as I truly do believe that everything happens for a reason. I now work part-time in a bridal shop (yes, it really is amazing being surrounded by wedding dresses!), and I have a lot more free time to focus and work towards my dream career again.

Following your dreams and working towards your goals can only ever be a good thing. It keeps you motivated, happy and positive too! Being in an environment when you are not working towards your goal makes you feel lost and you start to not believe in yourself anymore.

I still have a few reservations about starting my own business, as this won't be the first time I have tried it. I have a sort of fear of failing again, which I will touch more upon in a future post, but there is that saying, 'In order to succeed you must prepare to fail'. After all, even some of the most brilliant entrepreneurs failed before finally succeeding.

So this is a reminder, if not to any of you reading this but for myself, you must always follow your dreams and make it happen. If you don't you will always ask yourself 'what if?', and let's be honest, what really is the worst that could happen? So long as you have given it your all and have done everything you possibly can to make it work, it's an achievement in itself that you at least tried.

'Oh but my darling, what if you fly?'

Please, don't let anyone or anything stand in the way of what you want to do in life. Surround yourself with like-minded people to help you stay on track. Being surrounded by positive and motivated people will, in turn, help you feel the same way. I have a long way to go to get to where I want to be, but I am not going to hold myself back anymore!
