October Favourites

So this month's favourites are in, and so is this week's video! This month I didn't think I had been loving much but when I sat down and thought about it I realised there were quite a few things that I could add to my list and therefore blog about.

This month's fashion favourites are items that I have not stopped wearing! Firstly we have this burnt orange jumper from New Look which is so, so cosy and warm. I love the high neck as there's no need to wear a scarf when wearing this jumper, and the colour is just beautiful.

My second fashion favourite this month has to be this printed dress which my friend gave to me. It's a swing dress and goes perfectly with a long sleeved top underneath, or on it's own. I think I've pretty much worn this once a week throughout October because it's so easy to wear and such a pretty print for Autumn too.

This month's beauty favourites were these two classic beauties. These are definitely all time favourites but seeing as I'm only just getting into the monthly favourites posts and video's I thought I would add them in.

The Garnier micellar make up remover is just amazing. It literally melts off your make up in seconds and you're left feeling fresh faced and ready for bed! The thing I love about it most is that it really digs deep and removes all of your make up rather than waking up with half of it still on! This has been a favourite of mine for a while now and I can't see that changing any time soon.

As with the make up remover, Batiste dry shampoo has been a favourite for a long time, but in October more so. I thought I would try a new shampoo from Elvive and at first it was great, but after 2-3 weeks it left my hair feeling greasy after just a day of washing it! It's safe to say that Batiste was my hair saviour  last month and I've now gone back to my old shampoo (see this is what happens when you venture out of your comfort zone!)

The first of this month's home favourites had to be my old candle jar which I transformed into a storage jar to hold these chestnuts in. I randomly had a brain wave this month and decided I wanted to put some chestnuts in a jar for our side table in the living room to make it look and feel more Autumnal, and I had the perfect jar to hand! It looks so sweet in our living room and just adds a little feel of nature in our home, and the great thing is I can use this jar for all sorts throughout the year! Keep an eye out as I have a little DIY post coming this week based on this.

My second favourite home item from October had to be this Pomegranate scented candle from The Range. It smells incredible and I'm quite sad that it's nearly finished, t's that good I think I'll pop out and buy another! I love trying out different scented candles, especially in the Autumn/Winter seasons as that's when you get the best scents (I think!). There's just nothing better than a candle burning when it's rainy and gloomy outside and you're snuggled up on the sofa watching your fav film!

Last month I had a favourite food, this month I have a favourite drink and it's the Purdey's Rejuvenating fruit drink. Me and Jack bought these when we grabbed a meal deal from Tesco a few weeks ago and since then we haven't looked back. These drinks are so tasty, and I don't often go for fizzy drinks. As far as I'm aware there is only one flavour at the moment as I've not come across any others, but if they do have other flavours I'd love to try them as these are delish!

After my September favourites I didn't think I had a TV favourite for October, but then it hit me - Once Upon A Time was back! How could I forget?! I started watching this TV series back in May/June and caught up on all 4 seasons. It's such an easy watch and it's all about the fairytales we grew up watching and loving such as Peter Pan, Snow White, Wicked and so many more! I won't go in to detail incase some of you want to watch this, but basically these fairytale characters are sent to our world in a new town called Storybrook. No one from 'our world' can actually see Storybrook, apart from the saviour.

There's not really much I need to say about my favourite quote of the month. I think it's speaks for itself and speak volumes, and if you read my previous post you'll know that this quote means a lot to me at the moment.

Please check out my October Faves video below, thumbs up and subscribe and leave a comment letting me know your favourite things from last month.

Life Update - Stuck in a rut

Hello lovelies, so it's been a little while since my 'being organised' post. As you can probably tell it's not gone so well recently, but as you may have seen in my previous post my laptop half died a couple of weeks ago so it's been very hard for me to get on it to do anything. I'm not using that as an excuse for my absence though, I've not been very organised for pretty much the whole of October.

Do you ever just feel like you're stuck in a rut and you have no idea how to get out? Yeah, that's how I've been feeling for quite some time now. Every now and then I have my bursts of energy, ideas and really productive days where I get organised and get loads done, and then before you know it it's gone and it's like you don't have any energy any more or the will to do anything. This is a horrible feeling and one that I am determined to get out of before the new year comes (start as you mean to go on and all that).

When I feel like this one of the things I like to do most is go on Pinterest and just search loads of quotes, and not to mention read over the ones I have already saved on my 'Inspire' board. It may sound silly to some but reading motivational quotes really does help me, even if it's just a short fix. The fact is though, no one else can get me out of this rut but me. No one else can make me do the things I want to do but me.

When you're in a rut it feels like there is no way out, no light at the end of the tunnel. That sounds a lot deeper than it actually is, but that is how I feel when I'm in a rut, and trust me I've been in one for quite some time.

Without blaming anyone but myself I do think it is partly due to my job. I used to work in retail, always on my feet, bombing it around the shop floor and still feeling full of energy when I got home. Now I work in an office, sat on my lazy bum all day and when I get home all I want to do is sit on my lazy ass (I better start doing my squats before it goes flat!). My point is that I need to find that energy that I once had and get it back into my life so that I stop being so god darn lazy. Jack always tells me I'm not lazy as I'm always doing something but I just don't feel like I'm doing enough.

I need to introduce exercise back into my life. I ended up quitting the gym a few months ago as I was just wasting money and I did start to watch YouTube video's to do home work-outs, but again that failed. I need to dig deep and find something inside me, the old, motivated me. The me that would go to sleep happy knowing that I had achieved something that day. I miss that me, and it's time to get me back. I'm not quite sure how this is going to happen, all I know is, I can't keep going on like this because one day I'll look back on my life and think 'I had one life to live, what the hell did I do with it?!'.

So for now that was my little rant/life update but I'll keep you posted on how it goes. If you see me blogging a lot then you'll know it's going well, and if you haven't seen one in a while then leave me a comment telling me to get off my lazy ass!

Today is the start of a new month and it's time to make a change for the better.
