Hello lovelies, today's post is a bit of a different one but I really enjoyed filming it. I really hope these 5 tips help some of you out as I always use these when going charity shopping. Let me know in the comments what you think of this type of video/blog post :)
1. Rummage
Don’t be afraid to look at
every single item in the shop, you may not see a good piece when you first walk
in so just remember to take your time and look at everything. You may just find a hidden gem!
2. Don’t just look at the clothes
Be
sure to look at the shoes, bags, ornaments and jewellery aswell. I once got an amazing vintage suitcase (seen above) for just £2.99! It's probably one of my most favourite buys from charity shopping. It's amazing what you can find when you take the time to look!
3. Try before you buy
You never know
what an item is going to look like until you try it on – it’s different from
high-street shopping so always try before buying. This will also benefit you if you like something but aren't sure whether it will suit you. Most charity shops will have atleast one changing room so don't be afraid to ask if you can try it on.
4. Make sure you can create atleast 3
outfits with what you’re about to buy
There’s nothing worse than getting home
and realising what you have bought doesn’t go with anything in your wardrobe, thus ending up back
in the charity shop! Of course buying these items is for an extremely good cause but you don't want to end up giving it back to charity because it didn't match your style.
5. Try different areas
Be sure to try
different areas with loads of charity shops, I find in Southampton, where I live, they aren’t
very good but in Fareham and Cosham they are amazing so don’t be put off if you
don’t find much on your first try. It's always great if you in a new town and find some charity shops to pop into aswell. You may not find anything but on the flip side you may find your new favourite charity shop with everything in it! Another good place to look if you're local to Hampshire is Farnham and Aldershot.
