Last week I surprised Jack with an early Valentines present, a little adventure to Brighton. We travelled up on the Monday and came back on the Tuesday so unfortunately it was only a short stay, but we had the best time together! We don't get to spend much time together with the jobs that we have so doing little things like this is great for us and something that means a lot to us both. I chose Brighton as this is the place me and Jack want to start our lives properly together in the (hopefully) near future. We have talked so much about moving to Brighton for such a long time it has become a true dream of ours to one day live there and build our lives and careers in this quirky little town. Just being there for those two days made it official, this is where we want to be, this is what we will work towards.
(Excuse Jack's crusty hand, his latest tattoo is healing! Ha!)
We strolled through the high street, down into The Lanes which is the prettiest part of Brighton that I have seen so far. For those of you who don't know, The Lanes is full of sweet little shops including vintage shops, bakery's, jewellers and cafes etc, it really is the prettiest of areas. We came across a charming little cafe to stop for lunch called 'Cafe Coho' and I had actually been here before with my friend Gemma and couldn't resist going in again. The food is amazing. The sandwiches are packed with unusual fillings it's hard to choose what to eat! I ended up deciding on a salmon, goats cheese (possibly, I can't quite remember) and rocket sandwich and oh my, it was amazing! Every bite! Accompanied with that was a huge mug of hot chocolate which was possibly one of the best I have ever had (sorry darling Costa!), and it all went down a treat! Jack enjoyed it too, as I knew he would :) As we sat by the window and watched the world go by we couldn't help but smile to ourselves as we both knew this would be a place we would some when call home.
We took a trip to the Sea Life Centre (the big kids that we are!) and had so much fun spotting the fish, crabs and stingrays before us. However, the best part for us both was seeing the giant turtles!! We couldn't believe how big they were!! We watched them swim right over our heads as we stood in the tunnel, fascinated. We then went to the top of the aquarium and watched them swimming and eating cabbage right in front of us. We probably could have stayed there all day watching them. Oh, and another rather large animal that took us by surprise was the giant spider crab, I mean, have you seen the size of him!!
I'm quite shocked at myself for not taking more photos to be honest. Usually I am so snap happy but I guess I was just taking it all in, living in the moment and truly enjoying myself. No doubt me and Jack will visit again soon, we can't wait to go back! And then I will be sure to take lots of lovely photos and hopefully discover more places. After all, we need to get familiar with the grounds if we're ever to call it home.
Speak to you soon lovelies,
